BillyBob's Cryx Commission

Postby Justicar BillyBob on Sun Feb 07, 2010 5:03 pm

So, one of my clubmates who's more of a gamer than a painter commissioned me to do the cryx starter for him. He bought the models built already, so I dunno if there are any conversions.
But it took me 5 hours from primer to finished. He only wanted basic paint.

$75 for 5 hours of work? Sounds good to me. If only I could score more work.

Looks great.

I found the way to stay in business was to undercut everyone. I painted because I liked painting, it gave me practice, and it kept me in miniatures. I was told many times to charge more, but I was never out of work to do.

Paint up something popular, put it on ebay, and sell more to the guy that buys it, so his army is all done by the same hand.

Looks like a good 'un to me. Nice clean paint job, unified in color. Nice.

$15 per hour isn't a bad rate. It's not gonna make you rich, but it'll keep food on your table.

Minis look good. Basic is good enough for tabletop play. Good Cryx-y color scheme there.

Very nice tabletop scheme. Little OSL would really make them pop! But I doubt your friend wants to pay that much
