Which movie is better, Aliens or Starship Troopers?

I want to know which movie you like better.
Aliens is filled with epic moments of alien vs human fighting.
Starship Troopers is filled with epic moments of bug vs human fighting.
One has awesome one liners and occasionally shallow discussions.
The other has awesome one liners and occasionally shallow discussions.

I'm not saying one is obviously better than the other, I'm just saying only one can rule as sci-fi king of something vs human battles. Which is it?

I'm one of those rare individuals that is not a horror fan. Aliens is sort of a horror/action hybrid rather than a pure horror movie, but it still has a strong horror element. As a result I've seen Aliens maybe twice, whereas I've seen Starship Troopers around a half dozen times.

I think Aliens is probably the "better" movie, but I voted for Starship Troopers because I like it better.

I am going to have to vote Starship Troopers because the concept is more epic in scope.

Aliens was less of a stand up fight and more of a bug hunt.

Like Fulminata, I'm not much of a horror fan. That said, when it comes to sci-fi movies, I enjoy a bit of a horror-esque slant to it (I quite like Event Horizon). I've probably seen Starship Troopers twice and Aliens a half dozen or more. I do agree that ST is more epic in scope, so I'm a little conflicted until I think of this quote, "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

So. Aliens for me.

To me, just about the only redeeming factor of the shitpile that was Starship Troopers is Dizzy's tits.

Aliens FTMFW. Still the only movie that ever gave me nightmares.

Hmm both have good points and we know GW loved both core ideas - one spawned the Tyranids, the other the Imperial Guard.

Horror wise i'd go for Aliens, however i do agree that the larger scope of Starship Troopers despite its low-quality feel gives it an edge in that department.

While I agree the Tyranids are a definate derivitive of the Alien concept (note the original take on the genestealer is very close to the concept from the original alien movie) Starship Troopers did not spawn the Impirial Gueard. The Impirial Guard as a fairly well fleshed out army ,that is pretty much as it is today, developed long before the ST movie ever apeared. And if you refer to the original novel I would bet that the original novel probably had alot more to do with the concept of the Space Marines over the Imperial Guard as in the original novel we see the extensive use of power armor.

Aliens, no question. While Dina Myers topless is a good thing, even she cannot save a travesty and rape of Heinlein's work. I wanted power fricking armor. At least Sigourney Weaver had a powered suit at the end to fight the Queen.

I remember reading somewhere when James Cameron heard someone was making Starship troopers, he quipped back with "I already made that movie, it was called Aliens".
